The first stamp issue of a New Nation,

Apparently, on the morning of the First Day Ceremony for the Inaugural
stamp issue of Turkmenistan ( a former Soviet Republic ), the Country's
President Niyazov looked in the mirror and noted that his mirror-image was
far more appealing than his face, as it appeared on this first postage stamp.
So, he immediately decreed that the original stamps be withdrawn
and summarily replaced by his new image.

The truth of the matter is a real error................

In the first 'printing' the National Flag is backwards, the second version reverses the Flag, and also the President.
