These envelopes were actually flown on the maiden voyages,
which opened many areas of remote Canadian wilderness to future
postal communication in the 1930's.

The postage stamp features a bold engraving of Hermes running with
a Western hemisphere map in the background. The official cancellation
shows the flight's origination point and the attractive cachet
depicts a design relative to the area.
