From the deepest, darkest Africa, what was formerly referred to as the Belgian Congo, come these 'printer's proofs stamps from a series issued in May of 1942. This stamp was proofed and printed at the security firm of Waterlow & Sons in London, England.
Each of these special " African Palm Tree " designs is decked with holes and non - perforated edges, making them useless as regular stamps.
