This Egyptian beauty queen, born in 69 B.C., used her extra-ordinary talents in
an attempt to revive the Ptolemaic power base. She was noted for her political
prowess, forceful personality and an array of romantic liaisons with prominent
roman leaders. One of her most significant affairs was with Julius Caesar,
whom she followed back to Rome and remained there until his assassination
in 44 B.C. A mere two years later she set up shop with Mark Antony,
and several years on, when he was defeated by Octavian ( later Augustus ),
she tried to get into his bed. With the roman rebuff of Cleopatra,
she committed suicide, allowing herself to be bitten by a cobra - snake.
Here we offer a colorful rendition of Cleopatra on a modern day
