Here, from the late 1980's comes this 'publicity stunt' money produced by the head of the Central Bank of Argentina featuring the future President of the Republic Carlos Saúl Menem ( born in 1930 ). In 1973 Menem was elected governor of the Rioja province. In 1989 he was elected president of Argentina in the first transfer of power in Argentina from one constitutionally elected party to another since 1928. In 1995 he was reelected for a second term. Menem has worked to reform the structure of the state, privatize business and bring inflation under control. Each pristine condition political note features a portrait of Menem along with a fully embossed seal of the Republic of Argentina. The reverse shows 'government house' and a political slogan translated as 'Union & Liberty', along with the dates 1989 - 1995 ( which was to be his first term in office ).
