CENTENNIAL OF CANADIAN CONFEDERATION

The year 1967 marked the 100th anniversary of the British North America Act, which unified Canada on July 1, 1867. A massive party in Ottawa was attended by Queen Elizabeth II and the highlight of that year was the issuance of a modified version of the 1954 $1 note bearing the date 1967 ( with the centennial logo ). It showed a view of Canada's original Parliament Buildings ( destroyed by fire in 1916 )which was substituted for the Prairie landscape that had appeared on earlier issues-these bore actual serial numbers. And a second version was also released with the dates 1867-1967 in place of the serial numbers ( only 12 Million printed ).

Offered here are both versions of these special Commemorative banknotes each with the special logo and a youthful portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, all in high grade condition.
