In the late 1940's the Government of Australia was considering adding
a low denomination ( 5 shillings ) banknote to their existing series.
A test paper of silk fiber was prepared, but the plan was shelved
and the paper put away. Until in the 1970's ( and into the early 80's )
when some teller training notes were required, this paper was retrieved
and printed in roughly the same colors of the currently circulating notes.
These teller training notes were available in the following
colors / denominations; 50 Dollars = yellow / 100 Dollars = blue-gray.
Then in the late 1980's the Aussies switched to polymer notes,
making these paper training notes obsolete.

Each note has the words " FOR TRAINING PURPOSES ONLY " and is
printed with the denomination crossed out, but in the actual size of the real
banknotes . Here we offer these 2 different values in untouched
condition straight from the Commonwealth Bank, which was formally a part
of the Australian Government, but was privatized a couple of years ago.
