The design of the 10 Dollar bill issued by Hong Kong & Shanghai Banking
corporation is most unique, as it features a partially dressed woman
with her blouse hanging off her right shoulder. When this picture first
appeared on the 10 Dollar banknotes of 1932 her figure was so exposed.
Other elements of this note include the coat-of-arms ( showing two
masted schooner & Chinese Junk ) with reverse depicting the bank itself
with a trumpeting angel above. The watermark takes a design element (
helmeted female warrior ) from the older series of notes issued by this
bank. These are all dated March 31st 1983 and are signed by
both the manager & General manager.
All of these banknotes are in crisp uncirculated condition.
